Held in partnership with the Getulio Vargas Foundation's Agribusiness Center (GV Agro), this study addresses, in a bilingual edition, sustainable development proposals for agricultural and livestock activities in the Legal Amazon, an area with more than 500 million hectares, which encompasses states of the North, Northeast and Central-West of the country. The region is notable for its rich natural resources and important for the carbon cycle and global climate regulation. The study also looks back at the deforestation in the region in the last decades, traces the trajectory of local agricultural production and addresses the issue of social vulnerability, as well as presenting a methodology for the classification and identification of low-carbon farming systems, economic feasibility and analyze the public proposals pertinent to the theme.
