    FGV Projetos organized the Sustainable Metropolis Forum (Fórum Metrópole Sustentável) in Rio de Janeiro on July 9. The aim of the meeting was to encourage a discussion of the challenges and the possibility of creating a metropolis with a high level of territorial governance, in which spaces can be shared in a sustainable manner.

    In conjunction with the Federation of Industries of the State of São Paulo (Federação das Indústrias do Estado de São Paulo – FIESP), tFGV Projetos held the seminar The Future of Energy and Nuclear Generation, to present the results of the study developed by FGV Projetos and discuss the challenges and expectations surrounding the expansion of electricity supply and nuclear generation in Brazil in the coming years.

    On July 1st, FGV Projetos promoted an important meeting about neuroscience and its application in social processes. The Portuguese neuroscientist António Damásio, a specialist devoted to cognitive science and studies of the brain and human emotions, author of numerous books, articles and 5 best sellers, presented the challenges of neuroscience and its relevance for the evaluation of certain subjective and social processes.

    On June 12, FGV Projetos received at FGV Candelária one of the most important world constitutionalists, José Joaquim Gomes Canotilho, professor at the University of Coimbra, to participate in a workshop on Regulation. Canotilho talked about innovation of administrative law with a focus on regulation, arguing some of the main structural categories of constitutional law.

    In conjunction with the Brazil-American Chamber of Commerce, FGV Projetos held the II World Economy and Brazil In New York on May 15. Paul Volcker, professor emeritus at Princeton University, Luciano Coutinho, president of  Banco Nacional de Desenvolvimento Econômico e Social (BNDES), Cesar Cunha Campos, director of FGV Projetos and Carlos Langoni, director of the Center for World Economy at FGV, attended as speakers.
