06 Dec

On the 6th of December, FGV Projetos and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) announced the official results of the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA 2012), developed and coordinated by the OECD.

First adopted in 2000, PISA is the principal international programme responsible for evaluating the quality of the education sector. It serves as a tool for governments to redefine and improve their policies on education, based on the information gathered to enable them to identify successful practices in different socio-economic scenarios. Every three years, the report evaluates the 36 OECD member countries and another 30 nations, including Brazil.

Speakers in attendance at the announcement of the results included Andreas Schleicher,  Deputy Director for Education and Special Advisor on Education Policy to the OECD's Secretary-General; André Portela, Professor of the São Paulo School of Economics (EESP/FGV) and Coordinator of the Center of Applied Microeconomics (C-Micro); and Antonio Carlos Kfouri Aidar, Director of Control at FGV Projetos.
