    The seminar Agribusiness in Brazil: Policies, Experiences and Perspectives, organized by OECD with FGV support, was the first of many projects to discuss and promote the exchange of policies, views and experiences of the different agricultural delegations from many different countries. FGV contributed with an overview of the actions and future prospects of Brazil in agribusiness.

    The FGV Foundation and the OECD – Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development – hosted a debate on October 28 in Rio de Janeiro on the role of Brazil on the world scene, projecting the economic trends for the coming years.
    The meeting, at the headquarters of FGV, discussed the latest economic research on Brazil – conducted by the OECD – from the standpoint of the 34 current member countries of this important international organization.

    The Global Economic Symposium (GES) is an international event staged annually by the Kiel Institute for the World Economy, under the leadership of the president of the Institute, Professor Dennis Snower. Previous sessions of the GES have already brought together renowned officials and personalities from the political, economic and social world in countries such as Germany and Turkey.

    The Coordinator of FGV Projetos, Fernando Blumenschein, participated in the meeting in the Instituto Aço Brasil (Brazil Steel Institute) about the strategic importance of the steel industry for the Brazilian economy. The goal of the meeting was to analyze the importance of steel in the country's economy to construct qualitative and quantitative benefits in formulation and strategic policies for the sector.

    Tax War

    FGV Foundation (FGV) and the Brasilia Institute of Public Law (IDP), with the support of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), held the seminar on Federation and Tax War on September 15 in Brasilia.

    The event brought together authorities, specialists and academics aiming to encourage a proactive dialogue on the new prospects for tax reform and fiscal decentralization in Brazil.
