    On April 9th the Victor Nunes Leal Institute, sponsored by FGV Projetos, promoted a lecture in order to debate on Judicial Security - Constitutional Challenges. For the first time ever, three Presidents of the Supreme Federal Court were present - Minister Gilmar Mendes, Minister César Peluso (current President of the Supreme Federal Court) and Sepúlveda Pertence (STF's former President and current President of the Victor Nunes Leal Institute).

    The Qualihosp International Seminar on Quality in Healthcare Services and Systems was held on March 29 at EAESP/FGV. Since 1998, the event has been sponsored by the Center for Studies in Healthcare Planning and Management – GVsaúde/(GVhealth). This year, the seminar featured three international speakers - Etienne Minvielle, (Compaqh, France), Kelly Hall (Partners Harvard Medical International, USA) and Simon de Lusignan - (University of Surrey, Gr. Britain).

    On March 5, 2010, FGV Projetos hosted the seminar 2010 Exchange Rate Perspectives, at EAESP/FGV, featuring Finance Minister Guido Mantega as the main speaker. Directed to entrepreneurs, presidents and directors of large companies, economists, analysts and investors, the objective of the meeting was to discuss the direction of the Brazilian economy in the aftermath of the crisis, marked by changes in exchange parities all over the world.

    On March 1, the anniversary of the city of Rio de Janeiro, was held the Carioca Pact Forum – the Rio we want by 2020, sponsored by the Special Committee for the Master Plan of the Rio de Janeiro City Council, with the backing of the Pereira Passos Institute and FGV Projetos. The main objective of the event was to make proposals to be incorporated in the city’s Master Plan. The Carioca Pact was the fruit of a two-stage effort - in January and in February of this year.

    The European Community, Challenges and Prospects was the theme of the luncheon-talk of German political scientist Werner Weidenfeld, founder of the Center for Applied Policy Research (CAP) of the Ludwig-Maximilians University of Munich, held on March 1, at FGV/RJ. The political scientist discussed the context of the global crisis and its continued impact on European countries as well as these nations’ challenges to turn this scenario around.
