    On October 23, FGV Projetos and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) launched the OECD Economic Survey 2013: Brazil – Spurring Productivity and Improving Income Distribution. The event was focused on analyzing the economic progress and challenges from the perspective of the OECD, including policy recommendations for Brazil. The topics addressed in the debate included macroeconomic policy, increased productivity and competitiveness of Brazilian companies, distribution of income and social policies.

    In conjunction with the Brazil-American Chamber of Commerce, FGV Projetos held the II World Economy and Brazil In New York on May 15. Paul Volcker, professor emeritus at Princeton University, Luciano Coutinho, president of  Banco Nacional de Desenvolvimento Econômico e Social (BNDES), Cesar Cunha Campos, director of FGV Projetos and Carlos Langoni, director of the Center for World Economy at FGV, attended as speakers.

Carlos Langoni, director of the Center for World Economy at the Fundação Getulio Vargas, argued the subject from the Brazilian perspective.

    The Global Economic Symposium (GES) is an international event staged annually by the Kiel Institute for the World Economy, under the leadership of the president of the Institute, Professor Dennis Snower. Previous sessions of the GES have already brought together renowned officials and personalities from the political, economic and social world in countries such as Germany and Turkey.
