1st Latin American Regulatory Summit

FGV Projetos participated as a knowledge partner in the 1st Latin American Regulatory Summit, an event sponsored by Thomson Reuters in São Paulo on the 4th and 5th of November. The meeting discussed the critical intersection of market and regulation in Latin America, bringing together government, regional and international regulatory agencies, specialists in compliance, as well as advisers and professionals from the financial and legal sectors.

The main themes addressed during the two days of the event were corruption, transparency, information security, preventing money laundering, the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA), corporate culture and governance, besides external actions and regulations versus local civil rights.

Speakers attending the meeting included Jorge Hage (Minister and General Comptroller of the Union); Gilson Dipp (Minister of the Supreme Court of Justice); Jorge Arbache Saba (Economist, Professor at the University of Brasília and former consultant for the World Bank); José Leonelio de Souza (Business Development Manager at Thomson Reuters Latin America); Silvana Mesquita (Director of Compliance at BTG Pactual and coordinator of the FATCA Committee at Febraban), among others.
